Time: 12 Noon
Where: Old Sacred Heart Church
16th Street and Buckeye Rd
Merry Christmas to all of you.
We look forward to seeing all of you on Christmas Day inside the Old Historic Sacred Heart Church--A National Historic Place. Located on the northeast corner of Buckeye Rd. and 16th Street, the best approach to the Church is by way of 16th Street.
As in past years, the scent of Christmas trees will fill the church through the generous donation from Jimmie Muñoz. Floral arrangements will again be provided by the generous support from Ken Young of Phoenix Flower Shops.
The Braun-Sacred Heart Center is pleased to announce that the annual coming together for Christmas Mass will take place at the regular time of 12:00 Noon on Christmas Day inside the Old Historic Sacred Heart Church. This is a time for celebration, for getting together, and for honoring the memory of those who have passed on.
This year we will have two historical displays.
American Legion Post 41 will have a display on the history of the Post. We are very honored to have the continuous participation and support of Post 41.
Few people actually remember how segregated Phoenix was up to World War II. Post 41 and its members played a major role in desegregating the city. Over the decades, the membership of Post 41 has served our country with distinction and returned to engage in continued community service. WE SALUTE YOU!
Jimmie Muñoz and family will have a display on the history of Golden Gate and Sacred Heart Parish. (Always a focal point of fond memories.)
Church open for visit and reflection. The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be in the Guadalupe Chapel of the Church

Extensive Mexican labor recruitment in boom times, the impact of The Mexican Revolution of 1910 and World War I, segregation, and deportation in times of economic distress are parts of this story of Arizona in the Roaring Twenties.
